Nick Reiner, the son of filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Reiner, has been taken into police custody following the death of his parents.
Reiner, 78, and his wife, Michele, 68, were found dead in their home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon in an apparent double homicide. TMZ reported that their deaths were attributed to lacerations consistent with a knife.
Nick, 32, was arrested on Sunday night at 9:15 p.m. and taken into custody the following day at 5:04 a.m. for an alleged felony charge, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department records. He is now being held without bail, after having his $4 million bail rescinded.
The Los Angeles Police Department did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for additional information.

This latest update comes hours after PEOPLE reported that Nick was being questioned by the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division in the aftermath of his parents' deaths.
Addressing the tragedy in a statement to Variety, the Reiner family shared, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time."
Rob Reiner’s career in Hollywood spans more than five decades, both in front of and behind the camera. It includes such iconic works as A Few Good Men, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and Misery. He married wife Michele in 1989, after first crossing paths while Reiner was directing When Harry Met Sally, which debuted in theaters that same year. They welcomed three children together.

Reiner previously teamed up with son Nick on Being Charlie, a semi-autobiographical drama that saw Nick open up about his battles with drug addiction and homelessness, which began in his teens.
Rob and Michele Reiner are survived by two more children, Jake and Romy. Rob is also survived by his daughter, Tracy Reiner, whom he adopted during his marriage to actress and director Penny Marshall.
